Jennifer Edmonds-Jones' focus began to change after working as an Arts Coordinator with Urban Connection-San Antonio (UC-SA), a community development orgainzation housed in a San Antonio Housing Authority (SAHA) property, on the city's West Side. Her work with Urban served as an introduction to the lack of access to resources for the arts. In addition to her work at Urban Jennifer continued working as a dance educator within the community and began to create ways to bring these two worlds together. Under the umbrella of UC-SA, Jennifer was able to bring guest artists, family workshops, and her very own West End Art Festival to the community. The relationships built with artists, organizations, and community leaders, while working on these early projects, now serve as the founding resources for Bridges to close the gaps to access to the arts.
